An experience of Holotropic Breathing
"Today all is for me. For my healing, learning or growing. Today, I am responsible. Today I am happy. Today I am free. Today I know peace. Today I am alive. My gratitude knows no bounds." - R. A.
"While I was at Choose-Again in Costa Rica, I experienced holotropic breathing. There is a piece of music that Diederik likes that always led me to relive an experience where I was abused. After the fourth time I asked the memory “How long are you going to keep coming up in my breathing?” The answer was “Until you stop calling it abuse.” I was stunned. After all, wasn’t I a survivor? As long as I looked at what happened as abuse, I was a victim of circumstance. I no longer desired to be a victim, or a survivor. That may not be a popular position as it may not seem as though I had choice as a child. It does seem though that I chose my lessons well.
I have been blessed to have made more than one trip to Costa Rica. At one time in my life, I felt submerged in a black pool with only my eyes, nose, and mouth on the surface and I was going under. Today all is for me. For my healing, learning or growing. Today, I am responsible. Today I am happy. Today I am free. Today I know peace. Today I am alive. My gratitude knows no bounds." - R. A.
