“The true miracle is not walking on water or walking in air, but simply walking on this earth.”
There is most certainly a desire for the supernatural nowadays, with every second movie or tv-show coming out with a new comic-book depiction. While they can be seen as the epitome of escapism, high-lighting the fragmentation of ‘specialness’, I find there to be also a more humbling representation at play: these larger-than-life characters become that because they made a conscious decision to think and act responsibly, beyond their personal interests. This modern-day mythology is a gentle means of reminding us that we are a part of a larger community, and to walk, standing tall, with compassion. Love, Dave
