I find this line to be so important to remember when I am tempted to judge another’s character by their actions. While I may share certain traits and similar backgrounds, nevertheless, each person is unique in their particular history of experiences--their story--to which I can only fathom. What I can do is show compassion, which is honouring their difference, while also recognizing myself in the other; to acknowledge our shared interests as a bridge of connection.
