"God, of your goodness, give me yourself; you are enough for me, and anything less that I could ask for would not do you full honor. And if I ask anything that is less, I shall always lack something, but in you alone I have everything." ~ Julian of Norwich
If I desire anything other than or in addition to Absolute peace, that desire comes from an unhealed belief in lack. As long as I ask for anything other than Peace the belief in lack will keep me searching yet never finding. Love, Diederik

"Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth." ~ Jean-Paul Sartre
Brilliant ego statement OR a statement of surrender. When I ask the ego to forge my destiny the results are not pretty. When I surrender and ask the higher, loving Self to take over my life starts to flow so easily and beautifully. Considering the most recent political events, I dare say the majority of the world received quite the surprise with Trump being voted into office. It’s easy to take sides on the issue and make fearful predictions of the future, but in all honesty, nobody will know what this means until we experience it. Might as well choose peace in the present, and be willing to discover the healing potentialities being offered--in every situation. Love, Dave “The true hero is one who conquers his own anger and hatred.” ~ Dalai Lama
If there’s anything I’ve learned from history, I could fight and win a thousand battles, but a man at war with himself will never find peace. This is why I find the line “Love your enemies” to be appropriately misleading, as it starts you on a path of compassion towards others, but must end with you forgiving yourself. Love, Dave |
