Faith is a powerful, positive expectation. We can choose to expect love or misery and what we expect is what we create. This is our opportunity to learn to trust that when we let go of all our grievances we are perfectly safe. To trust that once I let go of my constricting beliefs I release an enormous passion and excitement about my life To awaken we must first suspect that we are asleep and that there is another form of consciousness. To the ego (or fearful) mind, sin and guilt seem real, but to the mind focused on love, sin is simply a mistake to be corrected and guilt is our self induced punishment. Our sense of inadequacy, weakness and incompletion comes from the strong investment in the scarcity principle. We seek in others what we feel is missing in ourselves. We “love” someone in order to get something for ourselves. However, love is incapable of asking for anything. The ego self seeks to enhance itself by external approval, external possessions, and external “love”. The true self needs nothing. It seeks to share rather than get, to extend rather than project. The opposite of seeing through the body’s eyes is the vision of Truth which reflects strength rather than weakness, unity rather than separation, and love rather than fear. The work at the center is about helping to remove the blocks that each of us has built to seeing the truth. Forgiveness becomes the work that we do for ourselves. |
