Purpose is Meaning. We, Choose Again, recently conducted a survey to find what subject is most on people’s mind. Meaning and Purpose were easily the outstanding concern expressed. 'Purpose is meaning' are the first three words of lesson 25 and that lesson teaches me to ask that crucial question: “What is this for?”. ‘What is this for?’ moves me out of the ‘why’ question, a question which invariably has an element of blame, self-blame, blaming god, blaming other but blame. On Sunday we will explore as many ‘what is this for’ processes as possible. I would ask that you bring questions, situations, relationships where it is very difficult to see a loving purpose while the Course promises such a purpose at every page. There always is a loving purpose even if I am choosing not to see it or even look for it. Discipline and vigilance leads to forgiveness. Forgiveness is applied, lovingly but with healthy urgency, to the ‘why’ question. Please bring your questions, your comments and your loving presence; this will be a great and rich afternoon! Remember the quote from the Course: “Only what I have not given can be lacking in any situation.”
